Helpful hint: Day/Night counter & Active creature counter
I use a small glass stone placed on the light/ dark cards to show its current state instead of shifting the cards out of line as shown in the rulebook. Saves time and table space.
I also use a small green counter to be placed under the active creature since it can be hard for the hero to know which is active when several creatures are exhausted.
These 2 counters are so helpful I'm surprised some version was not included in the game, seeing as it's such an otherwise lavish production.

Especially on smaller tables, alternatives to sliding cards around help save space and make current states much clearer. I'll throw a couple of glass stones in my box too- great thinking.
